Creativity Blog 2

This week I wanted to find an expertise I got to create something, and what better way to find something that was Halloween themed? Also thank you to Litcy for sharing this YouTube page in last weeks creativity blog! Very fun way to get the creative juices flowing.

I started off with choosing some warmer colors, and 4 different brushes to use soo could get some different brush strokes and shapes. Unfortunately I don’t think I had thick enough paper or I wised too much water because I didn’t get the texture I was hoping for. But I trusted the process and let the paint dry. This exercise was nice because it gave you time to step back and take your mind off of it.

When I came back to my shapes there were a few I immediately knew what I wanted to do with them. Others on the other hand I struggles with what route I wanted to take. Which when you look at them, you can even tell which ones fall under each category. The ones I had an idea for came out very cute and the others look like their existence is painful, and as their creator I apologize deeply!

I would not consider myself to be an illustrator is the slightest, but I do have fun doodling and sketching from time to time. Keeping different medias and tools around to help when I'm having blocks on other projects help out a lot. I turned to paints, collages, and poetry when I couldn't think of photo concepts. It's a wonderful out let and helps build patience, especially dealing with paint! Waiting for paint to paint to dry really will make you take a step back which I learned can be such an important part of creating anything. Take your time and don't rush it, everything will come together.
