Case Study
Samsung UI Design
For this weeks case study, I chose the example we had in Chapter 4 about a product landing webpage
for a Samsung smartphone (circa 2018) that expertly used visual hierarchy to
guide users through an online story. With the use of Scale, Whitespace, Alignment, and Contrast. They even used the Z pattern in their design as well. The use of white space helps direct the eye, and the few hints of color impact the important elements. The word Samsung at the top is blue, and you cant really tell in these photos but the "buy now" button is blue as well. The typography is a sans serif which is very clean and modern like the UI and the devices used on their page.

This design really shows that less is more, if you want your design to look more modern and clean all of these elements tie into that. Its okay to use negative space to your advantage. When having a minimal design you have to make sure your alignment, scale, and proximity should be intentional. Especially when creating a UI, you want the viewer to have clear visual cues to make sure that you are leading than in the direction you want them to follow.
