Grow a Garden from Your Burdens
This exercise I turned to tik tok to find something new to do, the instructions were to write out one page of your worries or what is stressing you. Once you finish that page, you want to circle all of the positive words or phrases. Then from there you will connect the lines and start to create your garden. The creator I followed used water colors and a golden gel pen, blurring out their worries and keeping all of the positive words visible.
This was not only therapeutic and intimate, it was a great break from class work and just life. This is something I would like to do in the future, whenever things get draining or heavy. It reminds you that there is light in the dark and not everything has to cause so much stress. Also is a great way to get it all out, sometimes perspective changes when you say it out loud or write it down.
Journaling is a age old tool and sometimes its not always fun, but this brings some life to it. Knowing that you can write it all out and blur our what is causing you stress, pain, or anger. In a beautiful way, it should show you that you can get something good from the bad. I think any one who is overwhelmed or in need of a release could use this concept as a tool for when things feel to much. In my garden I only had an orange highlighter and a blue pen. So I did what I could with what I had. I guess I will share the finished result just to show what I did but try it out one day. I hope this reaches who it needs too.
