Exercise One

 Mini Narrative

Here is the mini narrative I created for exercise one...

I chose an everyday issue I face, and any other curly haired person out there faces when we wake up. 

I decided to use Adobe Illustrator for this project, since I am not extremely confident in my own drawings. Finding different images online to trace parts of characters to give myself something to work from. 

Once I had the facial expressions down, I added the hair. Then I could rearrange the images into the mini comic. I learned that, with having a character with a face was easier for me to tell a story with no words. Especially since i did not incorporate any lighting and only worked with line drawings. I also learned that sometimes when you don't know where to start, having a guide or something to sketch is very helpful. I challenged myself not to use Ai for this project. In the future, doing 2D images in Adobe Illustrator will not be so intimidating since there are so many tools and resources to help. A story doesn't need so many elements, you can capture a story in just a few frames.
