Project 3

 Animate A Lower 3rd

This tutorial is great to learn how to animate text with an object. Here are the steps:

1. Draw a rectangle and choose your color.
2. Select the Shape layer and double click the U on your keyboard to open up the properties
3. Jump to where you want the box to be visible on the timeline and click the Size Stopwatch to set a key frame. And uncheck the chain link icon.
4. Move the playhead back to zero, or press J
5. Set the value to zero to flatten the rectangle
This will make the shape grow over time
6. Return to there the box is at full scale
7. Type
the text you need. Draw a rectangle that tightly surrounds the text and stays within the background rectangle.
This is the mask that will reveal and hid your lower third
8.Go to Animation Menu select Animate Text> Position. Create a key frame and then move the playhead back to the beginning
9. Now drag the Y value until the text disappears down into the mask.
10. Finish the animation by going back to the timeline and return to the start and keyframe (J) and then open text Properties (UU) to reveal animator 1 and then move the text up until it disappears
