Mood Shape Mapping
What to do:
Without drawing anything, think of an emotion (e.g. excitement) and try to describe what shape and texture it would be in 3 minutes. For example: "Excitement feels like a jagged spiral; bright and jumpy."
Purpose:
Connects emotional intelligence with abstract visualization, key in design and storytelling.
Description :
Imagine walking a path that is on a decline but you cant even tell. At times it feels like you are even taking steps up, although you are really just going down, Since the decline is so subtle, it just feels like you are moving forward. In reality, you're just on a treadmill taking steps to no where. Slow, long, never ending path, through a grey day that has no sunrise or sunshine.
The Shape
Rather than creating a shape I felt more connected with creating a "path" for this emotion, a never ending slow moving path that just has no life. Describing emotions with out saying the emotion is difficult, but it really makes you think and try to get out side of the box, and gives you practice on how to explain things without saying it straight.
