30 Circles Challenge
What it is designed to do:
To train your brain to generate many ideas rapidly without overthinking, encouraging quantity over quality to unlock creative flow.
How it works:
Draw 30 blank circles on a page. You have 3 minutes to turn as many circles as possible into recognizable objects (e.g. a basketball, a clock, a pizza). The goal is to push past obvious ideas and keep moving.
What you might learn:
-
That your first ideas are often cliché
-
Creativity expands when you silence your inner critic
-
Speed forces flexible thinking
How to use in the future:
Use this as a warm-up before brainstorming sessions or design projects to loosen mental barriers and encourage divergent thinking.
This challenge was fun but a bit redundant because all i could thing to d was draw animal faces or random little faces. I feel like this could be used when you are trying to come up with character ideas. Or change the game and tell yourself you can not draw faces flowers or suns and really thing outside of the box. Also 30 circles in 3 minutes is crazy, I feel like there should be 5 minutes.
