Linked In Presentation
5 Things I learned from our lovely guest speaker Ash Cross
1. Linked In is not only a place where you can find jobs, but employers can find you. You must be searchable, have proof that you are a clear fit, and a call to action on your profile.
2.First impressions are vital which are: Headline & About, Headshot & Top 5 Skills, Experience & Education, as well as Skills & Recommendations. Some bonus points are Custom Banners, Personalized URL, Featured Highlights, Projects/Examples, Certificates, and Activity.
3. The way employers find your are: Job titles & Key Words, Advanced Filters, Location, Open to work, Industry, Experience Level, Connections & Company Engagements.
4. Your headline should include desired role, industry/ skills, and impact.
5. Connections are a huge way to network on linked in. The more people in your industry or alumni you are connected with then it give you opportunity to connect with others in the field.
